RivMcLean · #6 · Nov 9, 2012. I drove both and bought the Coupe. The sedan was confortable to drive, but the Coupe felt more agile on the road which is what I was looking for, a sportier drive. This was my first BMW and not knowing anything between the two models at that time I bought by seat of the pants feel.
Doing fab work on a hood would be a pain in the ass. I'm going with the main premise that the E46 coupe and sedan use different body panels anyway. And the E46 compact is not like the E36 compact, which is much easier to convert. Still, this sounds like its not worth the effort - just buy a E46 coupe instead.

Lastly I think you will find in most cases the coup has a higher INSURANCE rate than sedan because of accident rate experience. Summary--coup looks nicer, sedan looks great also (BMW), sedan is more practical and still has great looks. Reply Like. J.
